This result regards the development of an innovative Virtual Learning Environment and suitable (ISCED 2-3) learning content for the Math, Informatics and Physics study domain.

The 3D Virtual World will host all developed learning material in an attractive, multi-user training environment. Additionally, the 3D Virtual World will include for each course, a series of 3D interactive scenarios that will be designed and implemented as part of this output.

Finally, the environment will feature training functionality like Auditoriums, classrooms and media rooms which allow to organize training/educational process in a way of the face- to-face process.

The platform will be freely available for everybody to visit and use for self-learning purposes.

Moreover, teachers/trainers from ICT departments will be encouraged to participate and extend the courses offered while improving their ICT skills.

Piloting is necessary to ensure the quality of the DIGICAMP 3D Virtual World learning platform, the developed learning material and scenarios as well as identifying future directions for the partnership to extend the ideas developed. A detailed description of the e-courses will be prepared, including the contents outline and the suitable learning delivery methods for the courses. As a learning material a series of documents and multimedia content will be prepared to describe in detail the theoretical knowledge, the innovative 3D learning activities, the areas of the 3D virtual reality world, the learning scenarios and all the required learning material (exercises, activities, quizzes etc.).

An important part of this Output will be determined in detail the Learning Scenarios that will take place in the Virtual World. These scenarios will cover the general learning functionality of the 3D world, as well as specific interactive 3D activities associated with each learning concept that is going to be taught.

Main Deliverables:

  • - technology implementation of 3D Virtual World (M10);
  • - developed OER for the selected topics of Math, Informatics and Physics as a study domain (M14);
  • - learning scenarios description and their implementation of the learning scenarios and 3D Virtual World learning platform activities into the learning platform (M18)
  • - Piloting and Evaluation of the 3D Virtual World learning platform (M22) KPIS: The DigiCAMP Virtual Learning Environment will contain at least:
  • - at least 5 topics per subject (in total 15 different topics);
  • - at least 5 interactive learning scenarios per every single topic in the curriculum (in total 75 learning scenarios).

The innovation potential of the output lays in the combination of technological innovation and pedagogical approach to teach selected domains distantly.

Activities planned for DigiCAMP Virtual Learning Environment will focus on addressing the following issues:

  • - access to effective learning scenarios during the limited face-to-face training,
  • - pedagogical approach that covers all aspects of learning preferences of children (short but consistent information, videos, gaming, interactivity, etc.),
  • - technical installation of the DIGICAMP Virtual Learning Environment does not require any specific hardware, software or skills.
